HR Director (North Asia)

Responsible to develop strategic partnerships with all business leaders and functional leaders within Taiwan, China and Japan operations, built on the basis of solid understanding of business needs, to align requirements and priorities, and customize HR solutions and/ or HR deliverables in supporting the business in fulfilling growth aspirations, business, organisational and people results.

  • Demonstrating knowledge in and ability to develop and deploy process, tools and techniques to manage the people-side of transformation to improve performance and support organisation goals and initiatives. The position is expected to drive a range of HR projects that will embed a solid change management process, in addition to driving strong employee engagement across the region
  • Leading a variety of transformation and / or organisational initiatives to address future business needs and delivering business and people results
  • Partnering with Business/ Functional Leaders to anticipate business and people needs. This includes handling of HR issues, application of HR policies and practices, providing effective HR advisory and solutions to achieve their operational and strategic objectives
  • Planning, developing, organising, executing and managing employee communications and Employee Opinion Survey, independently and jointly with Business & Functional Leaders to ensure maximum employee engagement
  • Managing and leading the Annual Performance Review process, including Salary and Bonus reviews, market surveys and administrating salary adjustments and bonus payouts
  • Partnering line managers in managing under-performers including instituting performance improvement plans and other mechanisms in accordance with the labor legislation and practices of the contracting jurisdiction
  • Working closely with Business & Functional Leaders on all aspects of Industrial Relations & Employee Relations, discipline, employee grievances, etc. and providing advice and support to employees on HR policies and procedures
  • Leading the team in creating and maintaining sustainable relationship with Labor Union


  • 8-10 years HR professional Leader in an international enterprise or MNC
  • Working knowledge of multiple Human Resources disciplines such as performance management, compensation and benefits, organisation development, employee relations, and industrial relations
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional business relationships across all stakeholders
  • Strategic driven and possess critical thinking with strong commercial orientation
  • Possess strong leadership, communications, interpersonal, and motivational skills along with excellent business skills, financial acumen and executive presence
  • High level of integrity, respect for others, persistence, and passion for success
  • Able to travel regionally on short notice
